Village of Tampico – Water Main Freeze

The Village of Tampico is asking residents to perform the following procedures to prevent frozen water lines / pipes.

– Allow water to run in a sink or tub in a thin stream, with at least the diameter of a pencil
point, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week until further notice.
– Keep cabinet doors under sinks open to allow heat to circulate around the pipes.
– Insulate or warm pipes in unheated basements or crawl spaces.

The Village will be adjusting water and sewer bills to reflect this usage of service for preventative measures.
