REGULAR MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL VILLAGE OF TAMPICO
January 20, 2026

Reagan Community Center
Mayor Bruce Peltier called the Regular Meeting of the Tampico Village Council to order at 7:00 PM.Commissioners Sherry Coleman, Tammy Kendell, and Jim Coleman were present. Commissioner Susan Dean was absent.
Village Clerk Jamie McIntire was present and recorded the written and audio minutes.Mayor Peltier led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance.Minutes of the January 6, 2026 Regular Meeting were approved as presented.
Reports of Village Officials
Commissioner J. Coleman asked how the sewer issue is going near West Fourth Street.
Mayor Peltier said it is fixed for now and they got it cleared out, but a company may be coming on Thursday
to work on it further, weather permitting.

There was no Unfinished Business at this time.
New Business
Mayor Peltier signed a Proclamation urging all citizens to participate in activities planned by the
Tampico Area Historical Society & Museum and the President Ronald Reagan Birthplace to remember
President Reagan’s birthday. The birthday observance to honor the former President and Tampico native
is planned for Friday, February 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Refreshments and birthday cake will be served.The Mayor and Council reviewed the list of persons required to file a Statement of Economic Interest.
Clerk McIntire advised that once this list is sent to the Whiteside County Clerk, they will mail the form
that must be returned by May 1, 2026.The final item under New Business was approval of the cancellation of the March 17, 2026 Regular Meeting.
Clerk McIntire advised that the Governor signed a bill effective January 1, 2026, prohibiting meetings of
public bodies on Election Days. March 17, 2026 is the General Primary Election.A motion to cancel the March 17th meeting was made by Commissioner Kendell and seconded by Commissioner
J. Coleman. “Yes” votes were S. Coleman, J. Coleman, Kendell, and Mayor Peltier. The motion carried.
Building Permits
There were no Building Permits to review at this time.
Communications
Clerk McIntire advised that Kenneth Burn with Sauk Valley Community College requested to be placed on the
February 3, 2026 agenda to speak about updates to the Impact Program.
Bills were ordered paid on a motion by Commissioner Kendell, seconded by Commissioner S. Coleman.
“Yes” votes were S. Coleman, Kendell, J. Coleman, and Mayor Peltier. The motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 7:05 PM. The next Regular Meeting of the Tampico Village Council is scheduled
for Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 7:00 PM in the Reagan Community Center, located at 202 W. Second Street.
