Regular Meeting Minutes
April 7, 2026

Reagan Community Center
Call to Order: Acting Mayor Susan Dean called the Regular Meeting of the Tampico Village Council to order at 7:00 PM.
Roll Call: Commissioners Sherry Coleman and Jim Coleman were present. Mayor Bruce Peltier and Commissioner Tammy Kendell were absent. Chief Strike, Village Superintendent Tyler Chriest, and Village Clerk Jamie McIntire were also present.
Pledge of Allegiance: Susan Dean led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Approval of Minutes:
- March 3, 2026 Regular Meeting minutes were approved as presented.
- March 3, 2026 Closed Meeting minutes were approved as presented.
- March 10, 2026 Special Meeting minutes were approved as presented.
- March 24, 2026 Special Meeting minutes were approved as presented.
Reports of Village Officials:
Superintendent Chriest reported on a property matter involving 105 W. Market St. and a possible fence permit request. Discussion was held regarding whether the property should first be brought into code compliance before a permit is approved.
A motion was made by Commissioner S. Coleman, seconded by Commissioner J. Coleman, to approve a Fence Permit for 406 E. Booth St. – Sunny Chodagi. The motion carried.
Remarks from Guests:
Village resident Zachary Dunaway discussed his plans for Village property he is interested in purchasing. He stated that he would like to remove trailers, fence the area, and eventually connect it with his existing property.
Unfinished Business:
There was no unfinished business at this time.
New Business:
- 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe Police Vehicle Bid:
Bids were reviewed for the purchase of the Village-owned 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe Police Vehicle, sold “as is.” A motion was made by Commissioner J. Coleman, seconded by Commissioner S. Coleman, to approve the bid of $3,750.00 from Dave Cady. The motion carried. - Mayoral Proclamation – JA Day:
Clerk McIntire explained that Mayor Peltier had previously signed the proclamation recognizing Junior Achievement Day on April 2, 2026. - Resolution R03-26-04-07:
A motion was made by Commissioner S. Coleman, seconded by Commissioner J. Coleman, to approve the resolution granting permission for Rock River Energy to access usage data from ComEd for municipal electric aggregation purposes. The motion carried.
Building Permits:
The following building permits were approved by Zoning Administrator Tyler Chriest:
- 105 S. Main St. – Siding, windows, and doors
- 203 N. Lincoln St. – House demolition
- 502 E. Second St. – Stairs to upper-level garage
- 106 W. Market St. – Roofing
- 107 W. Market St. – Abandoned commercial demolition
- 208 W. Glassburn St. – Roofing
Communications:
Clerk McIntire advised that a PLT school district student submitted a donation request for the annual Firecracker Classic 3-on-3 basketball tournament. The request will be placed on a future agenda after the Village begins its new fiscal year.
Bills:
Bills were ordered paid on a motion by Commissioner S. Coleman, seconded by Commissioner J. Coleman. The motion carried.

The meeting adjourned at 7:20 PM.
Next Meeting:
The next Regular Meeting of the Tampico Village Council is scheduled for Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 7:00 PM in the Reagan Community Center, located at 202 W. Second Street.
