REGULAR MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL VILLAGE OF TAMPICO

January 6, 2026, 7:00 PM, Reagan Community Center

Mayor Bruce Peltier called the Regular Meeting of the Tampico Village Council to order at 7:00 PM.

Commissioners Sherry Coleman, Susan Dean, Tammy Kendell, and Jim Coleman were present.
Village Superintendent Tyler Chriest and Police Chief Strike were also present.
Village Clerk Jamie McIntire was present and recorded the written and audio minutes.

Mayor Peltier led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Minutes of the December 16, 2025 Regular Meeting were approved as presented.

Reports of Village Officials

There were no reports from Village Officials at this time.

Remarks from Guests

There were no remarks from guests at this time.

Unfinished Business

The approval of Employee Raises effective January 1, 2026 was the only item under Unfinished Business.
Mayor Peltier advised that this had been discussed previously and proposed a 3% raise across the board.
The Commissioners agreed.

A motion to approve a 3% raise for Village employees was made by Commissioner Dean and seconded by
Commissioner S. Coleman. “Yes” votes were S. Coleman, Dean, J. Coleman, Kendell, and Mayor Peltier.
The motion carried.

New Business

There was no New Business at this time.

Building Permits

Building permits approved by Zoning Administrator Tyler Chriest included:
215 S. Joy St. – Door.

Communications

Clerk McIntire advised that the $25.00 Red Tag Fee will begin this month for each Red Tag notice issued
for a past due payment.

Clerk McIntire also advised that the office has begun implementing the new LOCiS program.
Utility bills were mailed later than usual due to the web-based nature of the program and a lack of
internet service on the original mailing date.

Bills were ordered paid on a motion by Commissioner Kendell, seconded by Commissioner J. Coleman.
“Yes” votes were S. Coleman, Dean, Kendell, J. Coleman, and Mayor Peltier. The motion carried.
Clerk McIntire noted that billing reports will appear different through the LOCiS program and welcomed
questions from Council members. Account balance information is still being transferred, and a comparable
report to the prior system will be provided once available.

The meeting adjourned at 7:04 PM. The next Regular Meeting of the Tampico Village Council is scheduled
for Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Reagan Community Center, located at 202 W. Second Street.
