{"id":932,"date":"2014-05-05T20:00:14","date_gmt":"2014-05-05T20:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tampicoil.com\/?p=932"},"modified":"2014-05-05T20:00:39","modified_gmt":"2014-05-05T20:00:39","slug":"village-of-tampico-public-hearing-tuesday-may-20-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tampicoil.com\/?p=932","title":{"rendered":"Village of Tampico &#8211; Public Hearing &#8211; Tuesday May 20, 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Village of Tampico<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Public Hearing Notice<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p>The Village of Tampico will hold a public hearing on Tuesday May 20, 2014 at 7:00 p.m., at the Tampico Village Hall to provide interested parties an opportunity to express their views on the proposed federal funded Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) project.\u00a0 Persons with disabilities or non- English speaking persons who wish to attend the public hearing and need assistance should contact Kathy Leathers, Village of Tampico, 202 West Second, Tampico IL 61283 at (815) 438-2505 no later than May 16, 2014.\u00a0 Every effort will be made to make reasonable accommodations for these persons.<\/p>\n<p>On or before June 2, 2014, the Village of Tampico intends to apply to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for a grant from the State CDBG program.\u00a0 This program is funded by Title 1 of the federal Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended.\u00a0 These funds are to be used for a community development project that will address deteriorated sanitary sewer main lining as well as improvements to the Kimball Street Lift Station, which will provide improved sanitary sewer service to a majority of its residents. \u00a0The total amount of CDBG funds to be requested is approximately $341,000.00.\u00a0 The amount of CDBG funds proposed to be used for activities that will benefit low-and-moderate income persons is roughly $226,765.00.\u00a0 The Village also proposes to expend an estimated $107,000.00 in non-CDBG funds on the project.\u00a0 These non-CDBG funds will be derived from the Village\u2019s Sewer and General Funds.<\/p>\n<p>Information related to this project will be available for review prior to the public hearing as of May 16, 2014 at the Village of Tampico located at 202 West Second between the hours of 9:00 and 3:00.\u00a0 Interested citizens are invited to provide comments regarding these issues either at the public hearing or by prior written statement.\u00a0 Written comments should be submitted to Kathy Leathers, Village of Tampico, 202 West Second, Tampico IL 61283, no later than May 16, 2014 in order to ensure placement of such comments in the official record of the public hearing proceedings.\u00a0 This project will result in no displacement of any persons or businesses.\u00a0 For additional information concerning the proposed project, please contact Sharon Pepin at 815-947-8224 or write to Sharon Pepin at 118 S.
